Video Aspect Ratio

Video aspect ratio is the relationship between a video's width and height, expressed as numbers such as 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16. A wide 16:9 frame is common in landscape viewing, while a 9:16 vertical frame suits many phone-first short-video experiences. A landscaping business filming a large yard transformation may choose a wider composition for its website and a separately edited vertical version for social sharing. Simply cropping the same footage can cut off tools, people, or key results. Aspect ratio describes the frame's shape, not its resolution or image quality. Platform recommendations and display areas change, so the final export should be checked where it will appear.
