Email Authentication
Email authentication uses technical checks to help receiving mail systems assess whether messages claiming to come from a domain are authorized and trustworthy.
Email authentication uses technical checks to help receiving mail systems assess whether messages claiming to come from a domain are authorized and trustworthy. Common mechanisms include SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, which serve different but related purposes. A cleaning company's domain may send appointment notices through one service and website form notifications through another, so the records and sending systems need to be coordinated. Authentication is not the same as email deliverability: correct configuration can support reliable delivery but cannot guarantee that every message reaches an inbox. Domain owners should test settings carefully, especially before enforcing a restrictive DMARC policy, and monitor legitimate senders.
