Click-to-Text Button

A click-to-text button lets a mobile visitor open a messaging app with a business's phone number, and sometimes a suggested message, already filled in. A homeowner may prefer texting a handyman about scheduling rather than making a call during work hours. This differs from a click-to-call button, which starts a telephone call. Opening a prepared message does not mean the visitor actually sent it or that the business received it. The label should clearly state that texting is available, and staff should have a plan for timely responses. Desktop behavior and messaging support can vary by device and application.
