Website Quality Assurance (QA)

Website quality assurance, often shortened to QA, is the organized process of checking whether a website meets its requirements and works as intended.

Website quality assurance, often shortened to QA, is the organized process of checking whether a website meets its requirements and works as intended. It covers more than catching typos. Reviewers may test page links, form submissions, mobile layouts, browser behavior, accessibility basics, analytics events, and important error states. For a home repair site, a quote form should be tested with both valid and incomplete information, not simply inspected on screen. Problems are documented, corrected, and checked again. QA is broader than usability testing, which focuses on how people experience tasks, and different from a staging site, which is an environment where tests may happen. No test cycle can guarantee a site will never develop problems.
