Website Maintenance Agreement

A website maintenance agreement explains the ongoing work, responsibilities, and commercial terms that apply after a website is built.

A website maintenance agreement explains the ongoing work, responsibilities, and commercial terms that apply after a website is built. It may identify who installs updates, checks backups, investigates outages, edits content, or responds to support requests. A landscaping company should be able to tell whether routine page changes are included or billed separately, and who controls hosting and domain accounts. The agreement can define response expectations, exclusions, fees, and what happens when services end. Unlike an initial website scope of work, it covers recurring care. It is also different from a service level agreement, which may focus more narrowly on measurable service commitments.
