Web Design Discovery Phase
The web design discovery phase is the early conversation and research that helps define what a website needs to accomplish.
The web design discovery phase is the early conversation and research that helps define what a website needs to accomplish. A designer may ask about services, customer questions, business goals, existing content, and the actions visitors should take. A landscaping company, for example, may need separate paths for lawn maintenance and larger installation projects. Discovery can reveal those differences before layouts or code are created. It is not the same as a finished requirements document: the discovery work helps produce that document. The questions and format vary by project, but clear decisions at this stage can reduce misunderstandings later.
