Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, known as WCAG, are international recommendations developed through W3C for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, known as WCAG, are international recommendations developed through W3C for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. The guidelines address areas such as text alternatives, keyboard operation, readable content, and compatibility with assistive technology. WCAG 2.2 defines testable success criteria with three conformance levels: A, AA, and AAA. Meeting a particular level requires evaluating the applicable criteria; passing an automated scanner is not enough. A small service business may need to review its forms, navigation, photos, and booking tools as part of an accessibility effort. WCAG is a technical standard, while an accessibility statement communicates an organization's practices and known limitations.
