WCAG Conformance Levels
WCAG conformance levels—A, AA, and AAA—group the success criteria used to evaluate how well web content meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
WCAG conformance levels—A, AA, and AAA—describe increasing sets of success criteria in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Under WCAG 2.2, Level AA conformance requires meeting every applicable Level A and Level AA success criterion for the full page, not simply passing a selection of checks. Level AAA additionally includes AAA criteria, but W3C does not recommend requiring AAA as a general policy for entire sites because some content cannot meet all AAA criteria. Conformance is assessed against a named WCAG version and defined content or page scope, including relevant responsive variations and complete processes where the standard requires them. A service website should evaluate navigation, forms, media, and booking flows as well as its homepage. A WCAG level is not a W3C-issued certification and does not by itself prove compliance with every applicable law. State the tested scope accurately and document barriers that remain.
