Video Transcript
A video transcript is a written version of spoken content and relevant audio information from a video, typically presented as text that can be read separately.
A video transcript is a written version of spoken content and relevant audio information from a video, typically presented as text that can be read separately. A handyman demonstration could include a transcript so someone can review the explanation without playing the video or search for a particular detail. Transcripts may support accessibility and make longer recordings easier to navigate. Closed captions are different: they appear in synchronization with the video and include important sound cues. A transcript should preserve meaning and identify speakers when that matters; an automatically generated draft may need correction. Providing a transcript does not eliminate every other video accessibility requirement.
