Version Control (Git)
Version control records changes to files over time so a team can see what changed, compare versions, and restore an earlier state when appropriate.
Version control records changes to files over time so a team can see what changed, compare versions, and restore an earlier state when appropriate. Git is a widely used version-control system for website source code. For example, a developer can isolate a contact-form change, review it, and merge it without treating the whole site as one untracked folder. Git does not replace backups of databases, uploaded photos, or third-party accounts. Business owners do not need to become Git experts, but they should know whether their site source is maintained in a repository and how access will be handed over.
