User Interface (UI)

A user interface, or UI, is the collection of visible and interactive elements through which someone operates a website.

A user interface, or UI, is the collection of visible and interactive elements through which someone operates a website. Buttons, navigation menus, form fields, filters, and status messages are parts of the interface. On a handyman website, visitors use the UI to select a service and request an estimate. UI design concerns how these controls are presented and behave; user experience covers the broader impression and ease of accomplishing a goal, including expectations and outcomes. Attractive controls can still be frustrating if their labels are unclear or they fail on mobile devices. A useful interface prioritizes understandable actions, consistent behavior, and accessible interaction rather than decoration alone.
