Usability Testing

Usability testing involves watching representative people try realistic tasks on a website to learn where they succeed, hesitate, or get stuck.

Usability testing involves watching representative people try realistic tasks on a website to learn where they succeed, hesitate, or get stuck. A small cleaning business could ask participants to find its service area, compare cleaning options, and request a quote. The observer looks for obstacles rather than coaching people toward the right answer. This differs from a general satisfaction survey, which asks people what they think, or analytics, which records behavior without always explaining why it happens. Even a modest, well-planned test can uncover confusing labels or form requirements. Findings should guide specific changes and be retested where practical.
