URL Parameter
A URL parameter is information added to a web address, usually after a question mark, to describe a setting, selection, or tracking detail.
A URL parameter is information added to a web address, usually after a question mark, to describe a setting, selection, or tracking detail. For example, a service website might pass a campaign label through a link or use a parameter to display a chosen category. Parameters are different from a page's main URL path or readable slug, and the same underlying page can sometimes appear with many parameter combinations. That has practical implications for analytics, sharing, privacy, and search indexing. Avoid putting sensitive customer information into URLs, which may be stored in browser history or logs and passed to other systems.
