Third-Party Script
A third-party script is code loaded by a website from an outside provider.
A third-party script is code loaded by a website from an outside provider. Common examples include scheduling widgets, analytics tags, live-chat tools, and advertising pixels. Such scripts can add useful features without rebuilding them from scratch, but they can also affect loading performance, privacy, reliability, and security. A handyman website using an external booking widget should understand what data the widget collects and what happens if the provider is unavailable. Scripts deserve periodic review: remove unused ones, document their purpose, and check whether consent or other safeguards are needed. Installing another tracking script is not automatically a measurable business improvement.
