Task Completion Time

Task completion time measures how long a person takes to finish a defined task in a website usability test. A cleaning business might measure the time needed for test participants to find recurring service information and submit a quote request. The metric helps identify confusing navigation or unnecessary steps, especially when combined with observation and task success rates. A shorter time is not automatically better if people rush through unclear or misleading choices. Define the same start and end points for each test so results remain comparable. Completion time measures duration; task success rate measures whether the goal was achieved.
