Staging Site
A staging site is a separate version of a website used to test changes before they appear on the public site.
A staging site is a separate version of a website used to test changes before they appear on the public site. Designers or developers can check updated layouts, forms, navigation, and software changes without interrupting the version customers currently use. For example, a handyman business could review a redesigned quote request process on staging before making it live. A staging environment should be protected from public discovery and from collecting real customer submissions by accident. It may resemble the production website but can differ in configuration or content, so passing tests on staging does not eliminate the need for a careful live-site check after release.
