Site Search Operator

The Google site: operator limits search results to a domain or URL prefix but does not show a complete list of indexed URLs.

The site: search operator restricts many Google Search results to a domain or URL prefix, as in site:example.com or a more specific site:https://example.com/services/. It can help a website owner explore which pages may be indexed and served, or look for unexpected URLs. However, Google's documented results are not necessarily exhaustive: a large site should not expect every indexed URL to appear, and a more specific prefix may return more visible results than a broad one. When no additional search query is supplied, the order of results is not a meaningful ranking report. A landscaping business diagnosing a missing service page should use Search Console's URL Inspection and indexing reports rather than counting site: results as a complete index inventory. The operator searches existing results; it cannot ask Google to crawl or index a page or change its rankings. It is a quick search diagnostic, not a substitute for verified Search Console data.
