Service Preparation Instructions

Service preparation instructions tell customers what to do before a provider arrives so the visit can proceed safely and efficiently. A cleaner might ask a customer to secure pets or identify rooms that should not be entered; a landscaper could request access to a gate. Good instructions distinguish required steps from optional suggestions and explain whom to contact if an issue arises. They should be timely, concrete, and consistent with the service booked. This is not the same as service process copy, which explains how the provider performs its work. Preparation instructions focus on the customer's actions before the appointment rather than the business's internal workflow.
