Service Add-On

A service add-on is an optional additional task or benefit that a customer can purchase alongside a primary service.

Service add-ons can make a booking more convenient by combining related work into one visit. Examples include adding filter replacement to a routine equipment inspection or requesting haul-away after a maintenance job. The add-on should have a clear scope, availability and price or pricing basis so customers understand the difference between the core service and optional extras.

Businesses should offer add-ons that address genuine needs rather than use pressure tactics. An estimate or booking form can show what is included, what is excluded and whether the optional service changes the appointment duration. Teams should verify licensing, insurance, equipment and staffing before presenting an add-on as available in every location.

An add-on differs from an upsell, which broadly encourages a higher-value purchase, and from a website service page, which describes an offering online. The add-on is the additional deliverable purchased with another service; it should not silently become a mandatory fee at checkout or appear without customer authorization.
