Self-serving reviews, in the context of Google Search rich results, refer to review ratings that a business controls about itself on its own website. Google generally does not display review-star rich results for a local business or organization when that entity controls the reviews, including certain embedded third-party widgets. A cleaning company can still publish authentic customer testimonials for visitors, subject to applicable policies; this restriction concerns eligibility for a specific search result feature. It should not be confused with Google's separate rules for customer reviews on Business Profiles. Adding rating structured data cannot override the restriction or guarantee that stars appear in search results.
