Search Console Regex Filter
A Search Console regex filter uses RE2 patterns to include or exclude matching queries or page URLs in Performance reports.
A Search Console regex filter lets a verified site owner include or exclude groups of queries or page URLs by matching patterns in a Performance report. For example, a lawn-care business could compare query variants containing “mowing” or “lawn care” by applying a suitable expression. Search Console's custom regex filters use RE2 syntax, so not every expression copied from another regular-expression engine is supported. The operator must select the Queries or Pages dimension and choose Matches regex or Doesn't match regex, then check the resulting rows before interpreting changes. A pattern that matches too broadly or narrowly can distort a report, and Search Console privacy limits, including anonymized queries, still apply. This filter changes which performance data is displayed; it does not modify website content, request indexing, or influence ranking. Always check the date range and report scope along with the pattern.
