Proof Point (Marketing)
A proof point is a specific, verifiable piece of evidence supporting a claim in marketing copy.
A proof point is a specific, verifiable piece of evidence supporting a claim in marketing copy. Examples include a documented certification, a clearly attributed customer statement, or a published description of a completed project. It is more precise than a general trust signal, which may simply suggest reliability. If a home repair business says its technicians hold particular credentials, the supporting proof should be current and accurately describe who holds them. Strong proof points help readers evaluate claims without relying on exaggeration. Unsupported statistics, invented testimonials, or badges that imply an unearned endorsement do the opposite: they can undermine confidence and create compliance problems.
