Measurement Plan

A measurement plan explains which business questions should be answered with data and how the needed measurements will be collected.

A measurement plan explains which business questions should be answered with data and how the needed measurements will be collected. It often connects a goal to specific indicators, events, tools, reporting intervals, and owners. For a cleaning business, the plan might distinguish visits to a service page, submitted estimate requests, and confirmed customers rather than calling all three conversions. It should also identify how data will be tested and what limitations remain, such as missed offline phone calls. A key performance indicator is an individual measure chosen to assess progress; the measurement plan organizes how multiple measures serve a broader decision. Tracking everything is rarely as useful as tracking a few meaningful actions reliably.
