Lighthouse Audit
A Lighthouse audit is an automated diagnostic assessment of a webpage using Google’s open-source Lighthouse tool.
Lighthouse runs automated checks against a web page and produces a report covering performance, accessibility, SEO and other technical areas. It can be run from Chrome DevTools, the command line or automated testing workflows. The findings help teams locate particular issues, such as render-blocking work or missing accessibility attributes.
A Lighthouse score is not a certificate that a website is accessible, secure or fast for every visitor. It is largely a lab-based result influenced by test conditions, device simulation, network assumptions and the page state. Manual testing and real-user performance data remain important, particularly for keyboard interaction, screen-reader behavior and tasks that extend beyond one URL.
For a service business, the most valuable audit checks the pages that produce customer actions: quote forms, service details and booking flows. Teams should prioritize findings based on user harm and confirm that any fix improves a real journey rather than optimizing solely for a score.
