Knowledge Panel Optimization

Knowledge Panel optimization is the process of improving the accuracy and consistency of authoritative information that may inform a Google Knowledge Panel.

Knowledge Panels are generated by Google from sources across the web. Eligible representatives can seek verification for an existing panel and submit factual feedback about information or images. A verified claim is not a dashboard that lets someone freely control all fields, and a knowledge panel cannot simply be bought or switched on by adding schema markup.

Useful maintenance begins with identifying the entity clearly: the same organization name, official website, current leadership, verified social profiles and accurate organizational facts should appear across appropriate authoritative properties. When a panel contains an error, use Google’s published feedback workflow and supporting evidence. Changes depend on Google’s review and are not guaranteed or immediate.

This topic describes ongoing source accuracy and correction practices; the existing Google Knowledge Panel glossary entry explains what the panel itself is. For a local storefront or service-area business, Google directs owners to Business Profile for local listing management. Knowledge Panel optimization should not be sold as a guaranteed listing-creation or placement service.
