HTTP Security Headers
HTTP security headers are instructions a web server can send with its responses to guide certain security behaviors in a browser.
HTTP security headers are instructions a web server can send with its responses to guide certain security behaviors in a browser. Depending on the header, they can help restrict where resources load from, reduce unwanted embedding, or encourage secure connections. For a small business website, appropriate configuration is one layer of protection against common web risks. Security headers do not replace HTTPS, software updates, safe account access, or vulnerability management. Some headers can also break legitimate website features when configured incorrectly, so they should be tested against the site's actual functionality. Their presence alone is not proof that a site is completely secure.
