Hreflang Attribute
The hreflang attribute provides a signal about alternate language or regional versions of a page.
The hreflang attribute provides a signal about alternate language or regional versions of a page. Search engines can use those annotations to understand which related URL is intended for a particular audience, such as an English page for U.S. readers and a Spanish version of the same service information. Hreflang does not translate content or create a multilingual website by itself. Alternate pages need suitable translations, consistent navigation, and correct reciprocal references where applicable. A business with only one English-language site generally has no reason to add multiple language annotations. Implementation errors can make the intended relationship between localized URLs harder for search engines to interpret.
