A website heatmap is a visualization that highlights aggregated patterns of visitor activity, such as clicks, pointer movement, or scrolling.
A website heatmap is a visualization that highlights aggregated patterns of visitor activity, such as clicks, pointer movement, or scrolling. It can suggest where people try to interact or which portions of a page receive attention. For a handyman site, repeated clicks on an image that is not interactive could indicate confusion worth investigating. Heatmaps do not reveal why every person acted a certain way, and mouse movement is not a reliable substitute for eye tracking. Use them alongside usability testing, form results, and other evidence. Privacy considerations also matter when choosing a tool that records visitor interactions.
