Analytics & Measurement
Google Signals
Google Signals is a Google Analytics feature that can enrich reporting for eligible signed-in Google users who have enabled relevant advertising personalization settings.
When enabled for a Google Analytics property, Google Signals may support enhanced cross-device understanding and demographic or interest reporting where Google’s eligibility rules and privacy thresholds allow. It does not mean every visitor is personally identified, nor does it turn standard GA4 reports into an unrestricted record of individual browsing behavior.
A site owner should understand the feature’s dependence on account and property settings, consent choices, regional restrictions and Google’s data handling rules. Reports that incorporate signals may have different availability and thresholds from raw event exports; counts can differ between interfaces and BigQuery for legitimate technical reasons. Tracking a trend requires consistent scope and a clear record of configuration changes.
Google Signals is not equivalent to the full GA4 measurement system or a generic cookie tracker. Teams should verify whether its reporting benefits justify the privacy and operational implications for their audience. Do not claim that switching it on automatically fixes attribution, enables all audience lists or proves identity across every device.
