Google Maps Place ID

A Google Maps Place ID is a reusable identifier for a place in Google Maps Platform that can change over time.

A Google Maps Place ID is a textual identifier that refers to a place in Google's Places database and across supported Google Maps Platform APIs. It is useful when a developer needs to retrieve place details, embed map features, or associate a geographic result with an application. A Place ID is different from the physical address, map coordinates, or ownership and verification of a Google Business Profile. IDs may change as Google updates its database or as a business moves or closes. Google's Places API documentation recommends refreshing stored Place IDs more than 12 months old, and an obsolete identifier can produce a NOT_FOUND response. A landscaping company may encounter Place IDs in booking or location-integrated software, but the ID does not establish that a business is approved for ads, currently open, or better ranked in search. Confirm that integrations still resolve the intended location.
