Funnel Drop-Off

Funnel drop-off describes people leaving a defined sequence of steps before reaching the next stage or intended outcome.

Funnel drop-off describes people leaving a defined sequence of steps before reaching the next stage or intended outcome. On a booking page, someone might choose a service but leave before confirming an appointment. A high drop-off at a step is a prompt to investigate, not proof that the step itself caused the departure. Availability, user intent, confusing instructions, and measurement errors can all contribute. Unlike general form abandonment, funnel drop-off can cover several stages across a website or customer journey. Define each step consistently and review the actual counts before changing the experience.
