Email Preheader

An email preheader is the preview text some inboxes display next to or below an email's subject line. It can add context that the subject alone cannot provide, such as the topic of an upcoming service reminder or a newsletter's main takeaway. Some email platforms let senders write a dedicated preheader; otherwise, inbox software may pull text from the email body. Display and truncation vary by device and email client, so there is no universal visible character limit. A preheader is not the same as the subject line and should not merely repeat it. Make both understandable when shown together.
