Email Account Recovery

Email account recovery is the process of restoring authorized access to a mailbox after a forgotten password, lost device, lockout, or suspected compromise. A handyman business that receives booking requests by email should establish recovery methods before an incident occurs. Depending on the provider, those methods may include backup codes, a trusted recovery address, administrative assistance, and identity verification. Recovery information should be protected because attackers may target the same process to take over accounts. This differs from email spoofing, which involves messages pretending to come from another sender. A recovery plan also needs a way to notify customers if normal email communication becomes temporarily unavailable.
