DNSSEC
DNSSEC, short for Domain Name System Security Extensions, adds cryptographic signatures that can help resolvers verify the authenticity of supported DNS responses.
DNSSEC, short for Domain Name System Security Extensions, adds cryptographic signatures that can help resolvers verify the authenticity of supported DNS responses. It is designed to reduce certain forms of DNS data tampering, not to encrypt website traffic. For a service business, DNSSEC is usually a registrar or DNS-provider configuration issue rather than a visible page feature. It differs from HTTPS, which protects connections between browsers and web servers. DNSSEC requires compatible DNS records and a correct chain of trust; a misconfiguration can interrupt domain resolution. Ask the responsible provider about support and recovery procedures before changing settings.
