DKIM Record
A DKIM record is a DNS record containing a public key used to verify a cryptographic signature attached to outgoing email.
A DKIM record is a DNS record containing a public key used to verify a cryptographic signature attached to outgoing email. DomainKeys Identified Mail helps receiving systems check that a message was signed by an authorized domain and that signed parts were not altered in transit. A small service business sending estimates and appointment messages may rely on its email provider to configure DKIM. The private signing key should remain protected by the sending system. DKIM differs from SPF, which checks authorized sending infrastructure, and from DMARC, which evaluates alignment and communicates handling policy. DKIM alone cannot guarantee inbox placement.
