Cross-Posting

Cross-posting means publishing the same or substantially similar content across more than one social platform.

Cross-posting means publishing the same or substantially similar content across more than one social platform. A landscaping company might share a completed project photo and a short explanation on both Facebook and Instagram. This can save time, but identical captions, image dimensions, or links may not work equally well everywhere. Cross-posting differs from content repurposing, which adapts the underlying information into a meaningfully different format or presentation. Businesses should also account for platform rules, audience expectations, and permissions for any customer material. Reaching more channels is not automatically an improvement if the message becomes awkward or repetitive.
