CRO Audit
A conversion rate optimization (CRO) audit is a structured review of the barriers and opportunities affecting a site's intended user actions.
A CRO audit asks why a user who reaches a website does or does not complete a useful action. It combines quantitative data—such as landing-page traffic, form completion, device segmentation and funnel drop-off—with qualitative evidence from usability observations, customer questions and support records. The goal is to identify testable hypotheses, not generate a long list of generic “best practices.”
An audit should first verify that conversion events are tracked correctly. Next, it examines the offer, information hierarchy, loading experience, accessibility, trust cues and contact journey. Findings should distinguish observed problems from speculative explanations. For example, a high form abandonment rate does not prove that the form is too long unless supporting evidence indicates friction.
The deliverable is a prioritized action plan with evidence, potential impact and how each change will be evaluated. A CRO audit differs from an SEO audit, which emphasizes discoverability and organic search issues, and from an A/B test, which checks one or more specific hypotheses through controlled comparisons.
