Content Localization
Content localization adapts information for a particular language, culture, or market rather than replacing words through direct translation alone.
Content localization adapts information for a particular language, culture, or market rather than replacing words through direct translation alone. Changes may include familiar terminology, measurement units, imagery, examples, service expectations, and local contact conventions. A home repair business writing for U.S. customers might use terms that differ from those familiar to readers in another English-speaking country. Localization can support a multilingual website, but the two terms are not interchangeable: localization is the adaptation work, while a multilingual website is a site that offers content in multiple languages. Accurate local wording should not create claims about licensing, service areas, or guarantees that the business cannot support.
