Content Delivery Network (CDN)
A content delivery network, or CDN, is a group of distributed servers that can deliver cached website resources from locations closer to visitors.
A content delivery network, or CDN, is a group of distributed servers that can deliver cached website resources from locations closer to visitors. Common examples include images, style files, and scripts; some CDNs can also help deliver full pages depending on configuration. A CDN works alongside the site's hosting or application infrastructure rather than necessarily replacing it. For a landscaping business with image-heavy project pages, efficient delivery may reduce delays for some visitors. Actual performance depends on file sizes, caching rules, and the rest of the site. A CDN does not automatically fix oversized images, slow application code, or poor mobile usability, and its security features vary by provider.
