Content Attribution
Content attribution identifies the original creator or source of material used or discussed in a publication.
Content attribution identifies the original creator or source of material used or discussed in a publication. It may include a person's name, a link, a photo credit, or a citation to a research source. Attribution helps readers understand where information came from and gives appropriate recognition. However, crediting a photographer does not automatically give a cleaning business permission to reuse a copyrighted image. Likewise, a cited claim still needs to be accurate and presented in context. Attribution is one part of responsible publishing, alongside fact-checking, licenses, permissions, and the originality of the surrounding content.
