Confirmation Dialog
A confirmation dialog asks someone to verify an action before it proceeds, particularly when the consequences might be significant or difficult to reverse.
A confirmation dialog asks someone to verify an action before it proceeds, particularly when the consequences might be significant or difficult to reverse. An appointment booking tool could request confirmation before permanently canceling an existing visit. Effective dialogs say exactly what will happen and offer clearly labeled choices rather than vague buttons such as OK. They should be keyboard-accessible, announce their purpose to assistive technology, and return focus sensibly afterward. Not every minor click needs a dialog; unnecessary interruptions can make a website harder to use. This is a specific use of a modal dialog, not every pop-up window.
