CMS User Roles

CMS user roles determine what different people are allowed to do inside a content management system.

CMS user roles determine what different people are allowed to do inside a content management system. One person may publish pages, another may edit drafts, and a third may manage settings or user access. The available roles and permissions differ between platforms. A small cleaning company might give a copywriter access to edit service descriptions without granting permission to change billing or site configuration. Role-based access helps divide responsibilities and reduce unnecessary exposure, but it does not replace secure passwords or other account protections. Review permissions when contractors join, change responsibilities, or finish a project.
