Brand SERP

A brand SERP is the search engine results page shown for a query that explicitly names a company, product, professional or brand.

A branded query often reveals what a prospective customer can immediately find about a business. Depending on the query, location and search engine, the page may contain the official website, social profiles, business listings, review sites, news coverage or a knowledge panel. These elements are not guaranteed, and different people may see different results.

To audit a brand SERP, record the exact branded query, country, device and date. Check whether the official site is identifiable, important pages have clear titles, listings contain consistent information and third-party results accurately represent the organization. Corrections should address verified inaccuracies rather than trying to suppress legitimate criticism. Changes in results may take time to appear.

A brand SERP is not identical to general search rankings for commercial keywords or to a company's own brand story. It measures the visible search environment around a named entity. Owning a domain or creating a knowledge-panel claim does not mean controlling every result that appears for the brand.
