Brand Entity
A brand entity is a recognizable organization, product or business identity that a search system can distinguish and associate with consistent information.
Search engines encounter a brand across websites, directory profiles, social accounts, articles and structured information. In this context an entity means a distinguishable thing, not merely a keyword phrase. A brand entity can be associated with its official site, legal or trading name, products, people and reputable third-party references. Consistency makes identity easier to resolve when different businesses share similar names or a company rebrands.
Organizations can improve clarity by publishing a factual About page, maintaining accurate public contact information, connecting genuine official profiles and using appropriate Organization structured data. Google's Organization guidance says structured data may help it understand administrative details and disambiguate an organization. This does not create a guaranteed Knowledge Panel, an entity score or an automatic rankings improvement. A brand mention is a single reference to an identity; the entity is the underlying thing referred to by many mentions.
Do not invent press coverage or create misleading profiles merely to multiply citations. Check legal names and ownership information when businesses merge, adopt new products or operate under trade names. The useful goal is discoverable, verifiable identity information that also helps customers tell a legitimate business from an imitator.
