Booking Deposit

A booking deposit is a payment collected when a customer reserves a service or appointment. A handyman business might use one for a job that requires dedicated preparation or limited calendar space. The amount, timing, refund rules, and relationship to the final invoice should be clear before the customer pays. Deposits are not appropriate for every service, and local consumer rules or payment processor terms may apply. A booking deposit differs from a general payment policy, which may cover all invoices and methods. It also does not automatically mean a booking is confirmed; the website should explicitly communicate the appointment status and any next steps.
