AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content is text, imagery, audio, video or other material created in substantial part by a generative artificial intelligence system.
Generative systems can help draft articles, prepare alternatives, summarize input or produce design assets. The quality of an output depends on the tool, its instructions and the evidence provided. Content may contain fabricated facts, outdated details, unattributed quotations or misleading visuals, so publishing it without review can introduce editorial and reputational risks.
For business websites, a responsible workflow checks original sources, permissions, accuracy, disclosures when relevant and whether the material genuinely answers a user need. Google Search policies focus on abusive scaled content produced mainly to manipulate rankings and offering little original value, regardless of whether it was made by AI or another method. AI assistance by itself is not automatically a violation of those policies.
AI-generated content is distinct from user-generated content (UGC), which originates from customers or community members. AI output can be reviewed, edited and supplemented by people, but that does not automatically establish authorship rights or legal compliance. Sensitive domains may require additional expert oversight before any claim is published.
