AggregateRating Schema
AggregateRating structured data describes a calculated rating summary for a specific reviewed item, using properties such as ratingValue and ratingCount.
AggregateRating is a schema.org type used to describe the summary of multiple ratings for a clearly identified item, such as a supported product or service. A page may express the average score, scale, and number of ratings in structured data. The markup must agree with rating information that visitors can see on the page; adding a number in JSON-LD does not create a genuine review record.
Google's review-snippet rules are narrower than schema.org's vocabulary. Not every page or organization type is eligible for star snippets, and Google does not promise that valid markup will produce stars. In particular, an organization displaying reviews about itself on its own site generally cannot qualify its LocalBusiness or Organization pages for self-serving review stars. Copying ratings from another website or fabricating counts also violates the relevant guidelines.
This is distinct from a customer review widget: a widget displays comments or ratings in the interface, whereas AggregateRating is machine-readable metadata about an eligible, visible rating summary. Both need accurate underlying information.
