Accessible Date Picker

An accessible date picker is a date-selection interface designed to work for people using keyboards, screen readers, touch, or other input methods.

An accessible date picker is a date-selection interface designed to work for people using keyboards, screen readers, touch, or other input methods. A cleaning service may offer a calendar when a customer requests a preferred visit date. The control needs a clear label, understandable instructions, predictable focus movement, and an alternative way to enter a date when appropriate. A visually polished calendar is not automatically accessible; disabled dates and error messages also need understandable communication. Date pickers are distinct from the broader appointment booking flow, which includes availability, confirmation, and follow-up. Real usability testing should include keyboard and assistive-technology interaction, not appearance alone.
